Blood Promise (Vampire Academy #4) by Richelle Mead

                                   Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4)

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them. . . including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

I have to say this first AMAZING!! I love the series and Richelle more and more as i am racing through the series. In Blood Promise Dimitri has been turned into a Strigoi and Rose drops out of St Vladmir to set him free. This time leaving Lissa behind..
She makes a trip to Russia, his homeland in search of him and stays with his family. And even stumbles upon secrets and discovers more spirit user, shadow kissed vampires even! This book follows her journey and her heart-wrenching hunt for Dimitri. Its so horribly painful( it reminds of Bella from twilight, the difference being Rose is definitely not as daft as Bella!)
She has to make some serious decisions and put immense strain on her heart. As the series progresses Rose is turning out to be a very beautiful and strong female character. I admire her and hold great respect for her, the best female protagonist i have ever come across!
The bond between Lissa and her strengthens, it amazing how Richelle has described their friendship without making them seem lesbo! Their friendship is beautiful!
Though the book did become a slight drag for a bit when Rose spent a lot of time moping and confused. For someone like Rose it seems like a slow thing. But Mead made up for all that in her intense action-packed fights, long fights! The fight was a little too long between Dimitri but i guess they deserve that considering their relationship!
Her twists stumped me! I was amazed at her planning of the series, she knew just where to tie up loose ends and when to introduce jaw-dropping moments into the story!
*mild spoiler alert*
And finally Adrian gets a chance, i love him so much! I do Dimitri too, i totally feel for Rose. The writing gets intense occasionally and i can actually connect with Rose and understand hr dilemmas. They are not stupid teen flaws, they are genuine and serious.
Oh! And i think Abe is the coolest character ever-such an enigma!
This book was quite sad in comparison to Shadow Kiss, it reminded me occasionally of Eclispse-all that sorrow. But i still loved Richelle's writing more! Her vampire ideas are novel (no pun intended!)
I heart Vampire Academies!!The theme gives the Vampire characteristics a new twist!
I am so looking forward to the next book!!!
A 5 on 5 this time!
But i repeat you MUST READ this series if you haven't yet!

  2. It is a must read series isn't it! I found this one a little slow (but still great) but the next book picks up the pace again and then the final book is such a perfect wrap up to the series. Definitely one I'll re-read over and over.
