Bookie Brunch- Trick or Treat..#Witches
This Halloween fellow blogger Sasha Soren brings to you Bookie Brunch Trick or Treat Blog Hop!
And I bring to you Witches, Cats and Bats this season.
Episode#1 Witches
Disclaimer: Witches can be a controversial topic because it often inter twines with religion. My religious views will remain mostly unexpressed in this post. This is just meant to be fun trivia and not to offend anybody.
Witches to me are like Unicorns or Santa Claus. I believe in them and I am open to debate about their existence.
Various cults and covens of Witches and Warlocks exists. Their credibility to me is open to question. Their practices and beliefs dazzle me.
So in conclusion Witches make a very interesting Halloween theme.
So have fun! :D

The word ‘Witchcraft’ has been derived from the word ‘Wicca’ which means ‘the wise one’. Witchcraft has been seen as a magical phenomenon, a pagan worship or religion, sorcery, and others, at different periods in Witchcraft History.
"Witchcraft is the alleged use of supernatural or magical powers.. Historically, it was widely believed in early modern Christian Europe that witches were in league with the Devil and used their powers to harm people and property. Particularly, since the mid-20th century, "bad" and "good" witchcraft are sometimes distinguished, the latter often involving healing. "

Beliefs in witchcraft, often resulted in witch-hunts; these are both found in many cultures worldwide."
The word ‘Wicca’ has been derived from the Anglo-Saxon word wicce, which means to have wisdom, so as to bend or shape, like a wicker for a basket. Wicca stands for a male witch, while a female witch is called ‘wicce’. With the passage of time wicca has gained currency for both male and female witches.
There are Celtic witches, Gardnerian witches, green witches, white witches, Wiccans, shamanistic witches… the list goes on. Generally, we can be referred to as “Neo-Pagans”; “neo” meaning “new”, or “revived”, and “pagan” meaning simply not being Christian, Jewish, Muslim or Hindu (the four most popular religions).
