Day 19 – Favourite book turned into a movie

I personally do not enjoy Chetan Bhagat's writing style, approve of his motivations, agree with his statements or like his other books. However this one I like because the book was hilarious and a fairly accurate depiction of marriage between communities in India and the consequent charades couples-to-be need to undergo!

The movie was AMAZING. The beauty of this movie was that the cast did not overshadow the characters of the book, they merely enhanced and represented them on screen. The setting, narration and inside jokes were excellent. If you are a non-Indian hoping to understand this "North-South" bickering and rivalry this is a good start on decryption of the two stereotypes.

Do you disagree?
