Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

My very first Youtube video! *cheers* to me!
Wintergirls

Lia and Cassie were best friends, wintergirls frozen in matchstick bodies. But now Cassie is dead. Lia's mother is busy saving other people's lives. Her father is away on business. Her step-mother is clueless. And the voice inside Lia's head keeps telling her to remain in control, stay strong, lose more, weigh less. If she keeps on going this way—thin, thinner, thinnest—maybe she'll disappear altogether. In her most emotionally wrenching, lyrically written book since the National Book Award finalist Speak, best-selling author Laurie Halse Anderson explores one girl's chilling descent into the all-consuming vortex of anorexia" - Goodreads

  1. I loved Wintergirls. I didn't review it on my blog, but I may someday when I reread it. I had such an intense emotional reaction to it. I cried through so much of it. I think it's one of those books that needs to be required reading; especially for young girls.

One of the first reviews I did on my blog was for Forge by LHA. You can read that review here: http://completelybooksessed.blogspot.com/2011/01/review-forge-by-laurie-halse-anderson.html
